5. The transitional provisions of paragraphs 1 to 4, in particular those of paragraph 2 relating to the priority of workers integrated into the regular labour market and the control of wages and working conditions, shall not apply to employed and self-employed persons who, on the date of entry into force of this Agreement, shall be authorised to carry on an economic activity in the territory of the Contracting Parties. In particular, these people benefit from professional and geographical mobility. Holders of a residence permit with a validity period of less than one year are entitled to an extension of their residence permit; the exhaustion of quantitative limits may not be invoked against them. Holders of a residence permit valid for one year or more are automatically entitled to an extension of their residence permit. An employed frontier worker is a national of a Contracting Party who has his normal residence in the border areas of Switzerland or neighbouring States and who has a job as a worker as an employed frontier worker worker in the border areas of another Party and return to their principal residence every day, but at least once a week.
