(a) A staff member may be invited to fill temporarily a vacancy at a higher grade. If the employee agrees, performs all duties and assumes full responsibility for the position, he will receive remuneration in addition to his normal salary. Remuneration shall be equal to the difference between the staff member`s salary and the minimum salary of the temporary post and shall be paid provided that the period of work includes the following amounts: (i) an agreement to reduce his annual salary in exchange for an additional 12 months` proportional leave or, at the request of specialised staff, work for five consecutive days from Monday to Sunday; whether salary grids for 2019 are available in Annex 3 of the State Government`s 2019 Certified Agreement. Staff members who are members of the Defence Reserve Forces are entitled to leave with pay for the purpose of attending an annual training camp of up to 16 days or a maximum of 18 days, if certified by the commanding officer in charge. The University strives to maintain existing staff services and provide them with ongoing opportunities to the extent possible. If downsizing is necessary, they will be reduced as much as possible through voluntary measures, and redeployments and forced cuts will only be used as a last resort. “Negotiations” means the conduct of actual discussions and efforts to resolve disputes and reach agreement. (b) If a dispute cannot be resolved by the procedures described above, the matter will be referred to a member of the Executive Council of the University at the request of one of the parties to the dispute. The member of management meets with the employee, his representative (if selected) and the director, the human resources department or the candidate to try to resolve the problem within 10 working days. Each decision is made in the form of a written agreement. Certified agreements contain terms and conditions of employment negotiated between an employer and the relevant public sector unions on behalf of employees. (x) A staff member shall not be required to write or physically rewrite more than two subjects per year, unless otherwise agreed. The drafting or adaptation of these topics will not be disproportionately the responsibility of each staff, unless mutually agreed.
(d) A casual staff member shall not normally be employed to work more than the corresponding full-time hours required for classification; Casual workers are not entitled to paid leave under Part 6 of this Agreement, with the exception of a long period of service. A casual employee is entitled to leave without pay due to illness, care, parenthood, bereavement or pity, jury service and government emergency appeal. The 2019 Certified State Government Entities Agreement (also known as the “Basic Agreement”) includes approximately 30,000 employees in more than 40 companies. Any senior or parliamentary employee who is a volunteer member of the State Rescue Service, volunteer firefighters or similar organization may take paid leave in the event of an emergency declared by a recognized authority. Casual staff may take leave without pay. (a bis) If a supervisor and an official do not reach an agreement on the distribution of the workload, any person may refer the matter to the DVC(A). The DVC(A) will seek advice from both parties and formulate a solution. DvC(A) may seek advice from the Director, Human Resources. The certified agreements that apply to most Queensland public sector workers are entered into by the Queensland Industrial Relations Board (QIRC). Where, as a result of floods, cyclones, bushfires or earthquakes, an official is prevented from travelling to his or her habitual residence to perform his or her duties, three days of paid leave may be granted per year.
Where an officer is required to return home to ensure his or her own safety, the protection of his or her family or property, or the availability of transportation facilities that may then be interrupted or interrupted due to weather conditions, paid leave may be granted for the remainder of the day.
